Why is the invoice process being automated?

As part of the Modernisation Agenda for the State and the Federal Administration adopted by the Federal Government, the action area Efficient Federal Administration aims to reduce bureaucracy in order to increase efficiency in the administration. Measure 6.5, Simplifying invoice processing, is intended to automate invoice processing in the systems of the federal administration to a large extent. To implement this measure, the project for the automation of the receipt and processing of e-invoices was launched under the project name D-Easi – Germany’s incoming e-invoice processing: automated, secure, integrated. The project is part of the D-Stack initiative and is being driven forward under the lead responsibility of the Federal Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BeschA).
